- Starting side
On this side you can choose your desirable operation language (pages will be presented in this language) by clicking on the appropriate national flag. By activating the hyperlinks "User manual" and "Terms of use" you can inform yourself about the use of the dictionary as well as about the terms of use.
On the starting side you register your user name and your password.
- Login
The opening of the dictionary happens by input of your user name and password. By
activating the button “Login” you will be registered. With the button “Reset”
you can extinguish your input. If you have wrong written or your aren’t
legitimate to use the dictionnary, you will receive a corresponding reply.
- Request access
If you still don’t have dates for registration, you can request an access on this
side. Please fill up all of the fields which are marked with a star (*). These
are compellingly necessary. The remaining fields are voluntary. After filled up
the form, please activate the button “Sign in”. If you have made
mistakes you will receive a corresponding reply.
By clicking button "Chancel", you will return to the side for login.
- Starting side after successful login
A successful login opens the dictionary. In addition to the use of the dictionary
you have the possibility on this side to change your operation language by
activating the hyperlink “Change language (operation)”. There you choose
your new operation language for the dictionary and afterwards you click on the
button “Modify”. Please take care that this change will not come into
effect until a new login. By the next access your new operation language will
become active.
Furthermore you have the possibility to change your personal password by activating the button “Change password”.
- Input of searched terms
Please write the term which should be translated into the field “Searched term” and indicate his language in the accompanying field. The search term should consist of 3 letters at least.
The target language is the or these language(s) in which the search term should be
translated. You have the possibility to choose between the languages English,
French, German, Italian and Spain by activating the respective language. If you
want to translate the search term all languages please activate the button “All”.
If you only know a part (chain of signs) of the search term, you can choose the
option “Search term contains string”.
You’ll activate your research by clicking the button “Search” and you’ll erase
your input by clicking the button “Reset”.
Please don’t use the signs “ or ; when making your inputs!!! If you search for proper
names you have to use CAPITAL LETTERS.
- Translation
After translation you will receive a table with all entries for the search term. All
terms that come into consideration are represented in the blue column.
Different meanings are separated from each other through a semicolon. The
letters in the square brackets serve as explanations:
[f] - feminine noun
[m] – masculine noun
[n] – neuter noun
[v] – verb
[pl] – plural
If you move the mouse over a word which is underlined, you will receive an explanation of the term. You can also activate the hyperlink “Explanation” to see the meanings.
- Modify and add term(s)
The column “Modify/Add” makes it possible to change and correct words and
meanings. By clicking the hyperlink “Term” a table of all registered terms is opened. In this table you can make your changes. By activating the button “Modify” your inputs will add into the dictionnary in another
color. As soon as the administrator or a language expert has checked and
confirmed your changes, he will remove the coloured marking.
The coloured representation means only that these terms were added by an user. So
you can be certain that all the other terms were checked by several
specialists.
A similar table will be opened when you activate the hyperlink “Explanation”.
In this table you are able to change and complete the meaning of terms in all languages. By activating the button “Modify” your inputs will add into the dictionnary in antother color. As soon as the administrator or a language
expert has checked and confirmed your inputs, he will remove the coloured marking.
- Entry of new terms
When you activate the button “New entry” a table will be opened in which you can add new terms into the dictionnary. By activating the button “Insert” your inputs will add to the dictionnary in antother color. As soon as the administrator or a language expert has checked and confirmed your inputs, he will remove the coloured marking.
- Translation request
If you don’t find your search term in the dictionnary, you can send us an inquiry of translation. For that you click on the button “Translation request”. When you have filled up the appropriate fields, please activate the button “Send request”. You will receive a reply as soon as possible.
